AN-13: The Tree Virus
OBJECT NUMBERATION: AN-13
ANOMALY SURNAME: The Tree Virus
ANOMALY TYPE: Entity
SAFETY CLASS: Dangerous
STATUS CLASS: Dormant
SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:
AN-13 must remain in its containment tank at all times. Opening the AN-13 tank: Compartment 01 should only occur during testing. No one is authorized to enter the AN-13 containment chamber; only Class E personnel authorized for testing are permitted entry.
Following exposure to AN-13, the Class E individual must be immediately transferred to a special Class E quarantine containment cell. After testing, the Class E individual must be disposed of and their body incinerated. When transferring the Class E individual to the quarantine room and incineration room, handlers of AN-13 must wear a Level 2 chemical hazmat suit at all times.
In the event of a type 1 containment breach (AN-13-1 spill), the containment area must be placed under mandatory quarantine, along with all activities heading towards the area. Following this, the OMTF β-2 must proceed to the area wearing LV 3 hazmat suit and contain the spill.
In the event of a type 2 containment breach (AN-13-2 breach), the same procedures must be followed, but the β-2 agent must wear a level 2 hazmat suit and weaponry designated for resolving the situation.
ATTENTION:
AN-13-1, AN-13-2 and AN-13-3 are 3 anomalies that will be described separatedly below
AN-13-1: The Tree Virus
OBJECT NUMBERATION: AN-13-1
ANOMALY SURNAME: The Tree Virus
ANOMALY TYPE: Entity
SAFETY CLASS: Dangerous
STATUS CLASS: Dormant
DESCRIPTION:
AN-13-1 is an uncatalogued type of virus with anomalous properties of transforming animal tissue into woody matter and, consequently, into trees. Its symptoms appear after 2 hours of exposure. The infected person begins to feel nausea, headaches, sore throat, and other internal pains. After 5 hours of exposure, the infected skin begins to show sores that transform into woody matter. Some have reported the appearance of leaves in their hair and fingers at this stage. After 6 hours of exposure, the person finally transforms into AN-13-2. The virus first emerged in the vicinity of the city of Alca on August 13, 2012, as a localized outbreak. Fortunately, only 11 people were infected with AN-13-1 before the media became aware of the case, and all remaining witnesses received injections of amnestics. All remaining AN-13-2s and AN-13-3s were eliminated, and only one AN-13-3 was sent to Blacksite-16 for further research and extraction of the AN-13-1.
It was also discovered that infected humans or animals will not transform into AN-13-2 if they are killed before the transformation.
AN-13-2: The Wooden Zombies
OBJECT NUMBERATION: AN-13-2
ANOMALY SURNAME: The Wooden Zombies
ANOMALY TYPE: Entity
SAFETY CLASS: Dangerous
STATUS CLASS: Dormant
DESCRIPTION:
AN-13-2 are individuals who, after 6 hours of infection by AN-13-1, will have parts of their bodies transformed into wood; their hair usually turns into leaves at this stage, but most lose all their hair. After transforming into an AN-13-2 instance, that person forgets all their memories and begins to act like a zombie, aiming to bite or injure the nearest person to infect them. If not eliminated within 24 hours of transformation, the AN-13-2 instance will transform into an AN-13-3 instance.
It was also discovered that AN-13-2 intances will not transform into AN-13-3 if they are killed before the transformation.
AN-13-3: The Trees
OBJECT NUMBERATION: AN-13-3
ANOMALY SURNAME: The Trees
ANOMALY TYPE: Entity
SAFETY CLASS: Dangerous
STATUS CLASS: Dormant
DESCRIPTION:
AN-13-3 are instances of AN-13-2 after 24 hours of transformation. AN-13-2s are considered AN-13-3s when their bodies become rigid and unable to move. After this, the body attaches itself to the ground with roots and grows until it becomes a complete tree. AN-13-3s are dangerous because they do not need water, nutrients, or sunlight to live, and their leaves can release AN-13-1 into the air, causing even more contamination. They are extremely flammable, with fire being the appropriate method to eliminate them.
