AN-23-1 is to be maintained at 150°C at all times to sustain production of AN-23-2 and prevent decomposition of existing instances. Deactivation of AN-23-1 is prohibited, as it results in the nullification of all AN-23-2 instances within 2 hours.
Consumption of AN-23-2 is authorized for testing purposes only. Personal consumption is prohibited. All tests involving ingestion of AN-23-2 require the presence of a safety mattress or trampoline beneath the test subject. Subjects must demonstrate proficiency in swimming prior to testing to mitigate injury risk during descent.
DESCRIPTION:
AN-23 refers to the anomalous set consisting of AN-23-1 and AN-23-2. AN-23-2 is a bread-like substance that induces levitation in subjects for 34 to 49 minutes upon ingestion. While the effect is non-lethal under controlled conditions, subjects unable to control movement during levitation risk severe injury or death upon landing. AN-23-1 is the source of AN-23-2 and maintains instances at a temperature that prevents decay. AN-23 was recovered on January 9th, 1999, from Lá Diêsto Bakery in Xenophnethia, Skallah. According to witness testimony from owner Siti Ladybug, an unknown cloud-like substance was incorporated into the bakery’s standard recipe. Upon baking, AN-23-1 instances became buoyant and floated within the premises. The owner reported that 7 adults and 5 minors experienced levitation after consumption. No fatalities were recorded. AN-23-1 and AN-23-2 were secured to Site-06 at the same day.
AN-23-1 and AN-23-2 are two anomalies that will described separately below.
AN-23-1: The Cloud Oven
OBJECT NUMBERATION: AN-23-1
ANOMALY SURNAME: The Cloud Oven
ANOMALY TYPE: Object
SAFETY CLASS: Safe
STATUS CLASS: Active
DESCRIPTION:
AN-23-1 is an anomalous oven that produces instances of AN-23-2. AN-23-1 produces 6 to 12 instances of AN-23-2 every hour. Production ceases if the oven tray is full. The oven maintains AN-23-2 at an optimal temperature to prevent decomposition. Maintaining a temperature of 150°C is sufficient to keep AN-23-2 warm and sustain production. The power source of AN-23-1 is unknown. Research into its energy source is ongoing.
AN-23-2: The Cloud Breads
OBJECT NUMBERATION: AN-23-2
ANOMALY SURNAME: The Cloud Breads
ANOMALY TYPE: Object
SAFETY CLASS: Safe
STATUS CLASS: Active
DESCRIPTION:
AN-23-2 is a soft bread composed of an anomalous substance with the appearance and texture of a cloud. Consumption of AN-23-2 induces levitation in the subject for a duration of 34 to 49 minutes. AN-23-2 must be kept warm. If removed from AN-23-1 and left unwarmed for more than 2 hours, the instance will decompose.
The bread is easily torn and has a soft, cloud-like texture and flavor. The taste is consistently bland and cannot be altered by external flavoring. Consumption carries risk. Subjects who are unable to swim or control movement while levitating may sustain severe injury or death upon landing when the effect ends.
ADDENDUMS:
AN-23 Test-16 (02:20 | January 10th, 1999) Test objective:To verify how long the effect of AN-23-2 lasts when a person ingests AN-23-2. Test result: 1 hour. Class-E entered the room wearing heatproof gloves before taking out one AN-23-2 from AN-23-1 and taking a bite. After 12 minutes of the experiment, Class-E started to float 10 meters above the ground. Scientists gave signals to Class-E to float closer to the surveillance camera. After 49 minutes had passed, the effects ended and Class-E landed on the soft mattress. Dr. [REDACTED] noted how long and how high Class-E could float before ending the test.
