AN-29: The Judgement Day

AN-29 cannot be contained due to its unknown and unpredicated appearance. If AN-29 occurs or an AN-29 instance appears, the amnestics plan for civilians and a mass communications hijack plan should be executed.

Following INCIDENT-29-20 on January 1st, 2000, AN-29 has been classified as Nullified. No anomalous activity matching AN-29 signatures has been detected in 26 years of monitoring

DESCRIPTION:

AN-29 was a localized apocalyptic event confined to the Plankton Island and the surrounding maritime area within a 15km radius. The event initiated at 9:00 AM on January 1st, 2000, and terminated at 21:00 of the same day. Total duration: 12 hours.

The event began with no seismic or meteorological warning. At 9:00 AM, civilian witnesses reported "the stars going dim despite a clear sky" and an overwhelming psychological effect described as "the weight of divine judgement". This effect was limited to Plankton Island. Vessels >20km from the coast reported no anomalies.

When AN-29 began, AN-29-5, AN-29-6, and AN-29-3 manifested first. After 5 hours of the event, AN-29-2 and AN-29-1 followed. After 8 hours passed, the event ended, leaving 340 people dead that day. This event only occurred on Plankton Island, as there were no reports of AN-29 happening outside of Plankton.

AN-29-1, AN-29-2, AN-29-3, AN-29-4, AN-29-5, and AN-29-6 are six anomalies that will be described separately below.

AN-29-1: The Fallen Stars

SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:

17 AN-29-1 samples were recovered from impact craters across Plankton Island. Storage: Site-10 Vault-12, Individual Containment Units 12-A through 12-Q. Each unit maintains an internal temperature of 25°C while the sample burns at 760°C internally via an unknown energy source. Units are inspected monthly for microfractures.

Research is permitted only with Level-2 gloves, a thermal visor, and a 2-person rule. Spectroscopic analysis shows emission lines not matching any known element. Sample mass remains constant despite continuous thermal output, violating conservation of energy.

DESCRIPTION:

AN-29-1 is a meteor shower of objects approximately 5-8 cm in diameter, comparable to river rocks. The point of origin is unknown; astronomical observation shows no corresponding celestial bodies. Composition analysis remains inconclusive. The material does not match any known terrestrial or meteoritic compounds and remains stable after the event ends, showing no signs of decay. Upon impact, each fragment created 1-2m craters and ignited surrounding vegetation.

DESCRIPTION:

AN-29-2 is a set of anomalous wind currents, 80-110 km/h, carrying invisible entities. Wind currents only affected Plankton Island airspace below 200m of altitude. Thermal cameras showed cold spots moving within wind streams.

Upon contact, living organisms suffered immediate cardiac arrest and severe frostbite despite wind temperature readings of 31°C. Inanimate objects - statues, vehicles, abandoned buildings - showed movement and vocalizations. 23 cases of "possessed" fishing boats were reported ramming into docks.

Field agents reported that crucifix symbols, religious iconography, or even drawn crosses on paper caused possessed objects to halt and move backward 5-10m before shutting down. The mechanism is unknown. It is possibly a psychosomatic effect on witnesses rather than an entity weakness.

AN-29-3: The Fallen Angel

DESCRIPTION:

AN-29-3 are entities that goes up to 2.1-2.4m in height, possessing four feathered wings, white robes made of a unidentified fiber, and a luminous golden halo. Despite the halo and attire, facial features are universally described by witnesses as "inverted" or "demonic," with mouths containing too many teeth and eyes that lack sclera.

Instances materialize inside private residences without regard for locked doors or windows, though initial approach is always preceded by three knocks. If the door is opened, AN-29-3 will seize one occupant and ascend vertically at speeds exceeding Mach 2. Victims are never recovered. AN-29-3 instances can instantaneously transform into a white dove Columba livia to bypass physical barriers, reconstituting inside the target structure. This form is physically identical to non-anomalous doves except it does not appear on infrared. Gunfire is ineffective; but crucifix symbols, religious iconography, or even drawn crosses on paper caused AN-29-3 to halt and move backward 5-10m before flying away into the sky.

AN-29-4: The Boiled Rain

DESCRIPTION:

AN-29-4 consists of cumulonimbus formations that appear during AN-29 regardless of atmospheric conditions. Precipitation from these clouds is chemically identical to H₂O but maintains a temperature of 1200°C from its generating cloud to the ground with no detectable cooling. Individual droplets produce explosive steam expansion on contact with surfaces below 100°C.

AN-29-5: The Wild Fire from Hell

DESCRIPTION:

AN-29-5 is a series of anomalous ignition points that appeared simultaneously across Plankton Island, with no visible lightning, human activity, or conventional ignition source. Each ignition point initiated at ground level before expanding outward in a radial pattern inconsistent with natural fire behavior.

The flames burned at a constant 300°C, measurably hotter than standard wildfires but cooler than the superheated precipitation of AN-29-4. After AN-29-5 ended, field agents reported that 10% of the buildings and forest were burned down, while an estimated 49 people died, burned alive.

AN-29-6: The Earth Keeper

ANOMALY TYPE: Entity

STATUS CLASS: Dormant

SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:

AN-29-6 must remain chained in a solitary containment cell, and OMTF Unit ε-4 must be ready if AN-29-6 breaks free from the chains. Whatever it takes, DO NOT LET THAT THING START THE EVENT.

DESCRIPTION:

AN-29-6 is a bipedal entity approximately 12 meters tall with a humanoid torso, digitigrade legs, and a crown of metallic thorns fused to its skull. It possesses six to eight eyes arranged asymmetrically across its face. Dorsal spikes protrude 1-2m from its spine. It carries a shepherd's staff 9m in length made of petrified wood and iron.

AN-29-6 uses the staff to direct movements of AN-29-3 instances and to strike the ground, causing localized seismic events of magnitude 4.0-5.5. Its primary activity during AN-29 is systematic destruction of natural terrain: forests ignite upon its approach, hills and mountains collapse, and cave systems seal themselves. This behavior forces civilian populations into urban structures, increasing exposure to AN-29-3.

AN-29-6 can assume the form of an adult human male of varying ethnicity. This form retains anomalous durability but loses the staff and size. It is vulnerable to high-explosive ordnance; sustained fire from rocket launchers or 30mm autocannons causes discorporation. Crucifix symbols, religious iconography, or even drawn crosses on paper caused AN-29-6 to halt and move backward 5m before falling to the ground and being forced to assume an adult human male form.
